Genetic instability, i.e. loss of heterozygosity (LOH) and microsatellite instability (MSI) represent molecular disorders acquired by the cell during neoplastic transformation. Genetic instability is a frequent molecular event in thyroid pathogenesis, found at the early and the late stages of thyroid tumorigenesis.
